An essential shift for intercity transport
HANOI — On September 15, 2026, at GOZON Tower, GOZON GROUP announced a comprehensive electrification strategy. The group aims to transition all passenger and intercity logistics vehicles to battery-electric vehicles by 2030.
The commitment is a major step by a Vietnamese technology mobility infrastructure company toward the country's net-zero direction.
“Electrification is more than replacing combustion engines with batteries. It means rethinking rest stops, charging networks and energy-optimization algorithms for every intercity journey.”
500 ultra-fast charging stations planned along major highways
The first phase will install high-power charging stations, ranging from 180 kW to 360 kW, at rest stops along the North–South Expressway and key economic corridors connecting Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.
GOZON also plans vehicle-transition incentives and zero-interest financing with commercial banks, helping more than 15,000 driver partners access new electric vehicles and reduce daily operating costs by up to 40% compared with petrol vehicles.
- •Transition all ride-sharing and intercity service vehicles to battery-electric models by 2030.
- •Deploy more than 500 ultra-fast charging stations along 2,000 km of major highways.
- •Target an estimated 45,000-tonne annual reduction in carbon emissions from 2027.
Lower costs and a better passenger experience
Electric vehicles reduce engine noise and fuel odors while helping keep intercity fares stable and less exposed to international fossil-fuel price swings.
The first fully renewable-energy ride-sharing services are expected to launch on the Hanoi–Ha Long and Ho Chi Minh City–Vung Tau routes in the first quarter of 2027.
